If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm Nina Bargiel, aka the slackmistress.
I write. A lot. Go back to the main page and click on any of the pictures to read more regarding my professional work.
I've been nominated for two Emmys, won an Environmental Media Award, two Kids' Choice Awards, and a Gracie Allen Award for my writing work on Lizzie McGuire. I've also won two Streamy awards for "Best Interactive Experience" and "Best Mobile Experience" for Valemont.
I've spoken about my web work at MIT Media Lab's Story 3.0 conference, as well as at Jeff Pulver's 140 Conference in Los Angeles. My talk, "How I Became a Zombie on Twitter," detailed my experience juggling the Twitter accounts of ten different characters within Woke Up Dead and Valemont.
I've been a panelist at ARGFest 2010, sitting on a panel with Mike Monello (Campfire NYC) and Owen Shiflett (AMC), as well as Digital LA and Dartmouth Club of LA's panel "Storytelling: Social Media and Transmedia" which helped kick off Social Media Week in Los Angeles.
My tweets are featured on Lisa Cohen's and Michael Ian Black's WitStream.
I live in Los Angeles with my detective partner and husband Will, (also the creator of 3TweetStories) and our pit bull Daisy J. Dog. Will and I have a weekly Saturday night talk show on UStream called BetheMarriage LIVE! (On Ice!). Currently the show on hiatus while I attend to other creative endeavors.
I drive a pink Mini Cooper. No, really.
My experience as a writer both in traditional media and transmedia give me a unique perspective as the face of entertainment changes and adapts.
Last year I wrote on Nickelodeon's How to Rock, and I'm currently consulting on House of Anubis. If you'd like to know my availability for a project, please contact me or my Manager, Samantha Slan.
